Fever: Megan Thee Stallion

Fever: Megan Thee Stallion

May 17 Midnight ET - Megan Thee Stallion released her latest project, Fever. The project features 14-tracks that are ready-made for summer.

Megan built up anticipation for Fever by dropping hints throughout social media and interacting with her fans. This formula of authenticity and talent created the best platform for Megan Thee Stallion’s Fever to be the potential album of the Summer.

Back in March, the Houston rapper released, “Sex Talk,” the lead single for Fever. “Sex Talk” includes straight forward sex positive lyrics, while some may take the song as completely explicit, it makes talking about sexual preferences and actions less taboo. Fever kicks off with “Realer” sitting at track one. May 16th, Megan released the second official single, “Realer,” just a day before the project’s official release.

Two features are on Fever. Megan taps Da Baby for the first feature, “Cash Sh*t,” on the project. Kehlani predicted/requested this on Twitter, for Megan Thee Stallion to do a song with Da Baby, the tracklist for Fever released shortly after. “Cash Shit” is all about the bag and rich behavior. “Simon Says” is the second feature on the project, with hip-hop vet Juicy J; “Simon Says,” is a track that gets you dancing. Megan posted a video of her and Juicy J in the studio where he coined her “Thee Verse Killer,” back in April.

Fever features other standout tracks.

“W.A.B” feels like a follow up to Megan’s “Cocky AF” from her Tina Snow project while also feeling nostalgic of the The Players Club dressing room fight scene. Sitting perfectly at track six is “Best You Ever Had” to show Thee Stallion’s versatility. The track embodies the confidence and security that Megan has and doesn’t feel threatened by anybody who thinks they can take her spot. You can hear this versatility in "Big Drank" also with Megan's sultry flow. Megan sticks to her roots and confident demeanor with “Money Good.” “Money Good, throw up where I’m from, let ‘em know I’m still hood ...”

At midnight Hotties new it was time to ride for Megan, with “Dance” she gives the next orders, “Dance, make him blow them, bands...” Track eleven, “Ratchet,” is the perfect song for the summertime function. Fever closes with “Running Up Freestyle” from the viral video of Megan at Beats 1. Megan Thee Stallion is giving me a Fever with the heat she just dropped, but don't take my word for it. Check out Fever, available on apple music and spotify.
